A trader and entrepreneur, Mudd encountered Captain Kirk whilst transporting three women to a colony where they were to become wives to the local men. He attempted to blackmail Kirk, without success.2 Later Mudd happened upon a planet populated by advanced androids who made him their ruler; Mudd again involved Kirk, who again outwitted him.3
