Third officer aboard a Klingon warship in 2365, Klag had never met a Human until Commander Riker served as first officer of the ship on the Starfleet officer exchange program. Klag was initially distrustful of Riker, and did not expect Humans to have a sense of humour. His father had been dishonoured by not being able to die in battle, and Klag was deeply shamed by this.1
