A member of the medical team aboard the Enterprise-D, Alyssa was an Ensign until 2370, when she was promoted to Lieutenant.2 She was romantically attached to several men during her time aboard the ship, including Ensign Markson3 and Lieutenant Powell. Powell proposed to Ogawa2, and she became pregnant with his child. In 2370 she became a victim of Barclay's Protomorphosis Syndrome, but her foetus was protected by the amniotic fluid within her womb. Data was able to use this fact to create a cure for the condition.4 Ogawa was still serving aboard the Enterprise-D when it was lost.5 She survived the ordeal and like many crewmembers went on to serve aboard the Enterprise-E.6
