Saowin was a member of a Delta Quadrant species which employed the services the the Think Tank in 2375 in order to overcome a serious geostability afflicting his world. His people attempted to default of the payment they had offered the Think Tank in return, a large quantity of bernicium ore from mines on the planet. They paid the fee when Kurros threatened to deactivate the field which contained the geoinstability, causing a level twelve seismic event. Losing the ore meant that Saowin's people would be unable to feed themselves.1
