One of the children who accompanied the Starnes expedition, Janowski became a follower of the noncorporeal entity named Gorgan. She attempted to take control of the ship by using the abilities which Gorgan had given her to manipulate the crew. Gorgan's control over Janowski was broken when Captain Kirk forced her to confront the death of her parents on the expedition.1
