A Human, MacReady was a sheriff on the Skagaran planet visited by the NX-01 in 2153. Although he did not display the blatand racism of Deputy Bennings toward the Skagarans, he did believe that the Humans needed to keep them in check lest they re-establish the dominance they once had. Captain Archer forced MacReady to re-think his position when he revealed that Earth would now likely be in regular contact with the planet since the NX-01 had discovered it.1
