Brother of Ensign Travis Mayweather, Paul chose to remain aboard the cargo ship Horizon when Travis left. He became captain of the ship when his father died in 2153, but found it a difficult role to cope with. Paul harboured considerable resentment towards his brother for leaving the ship, but the two managed to come to something of an understanding when Travis visited the ship and helped Paul to overcome an attack by pirates.1
