A somewhat impatient woman, Commissioner Hedford was no great fan of Starfleet. In 2267 she was being taken for treatment for Sakuro's Disease abaord a Starfleet shuttlecraft when it crashlanded on an asteroid due to the influence of the alien entity known as The Companion. Hedford died of the disease, though her body was possessed by the Companion so that it could live out life with Zefram Cochrane as a Human.1
