Stella was the wife of Harry Mudd. She was his prime inspiration in exploring space, for each time he thought of her he was strongly motivated to travel further from her. Captain Kirk forced Mudd to live with 500 android copies of Stella in retaliation for Mudd's attempt to steal the Enterprise.1
