A Trill, Kareel travelled to the Enterprise-D in 2367 to serve as a host for the symbiote Odan. After the joining her personality was submerged by Odan's and she continued to express the romantic feelings for Dr. Crusher which Odan had felt in his previous two hosts. Dr. Crusher felt unable to return the feeling on this occasion, and ended their relationship.1
