A Romulan operative, Taibak was a specialist in mind control techniques. He was in charge of the effort to brainwash Geordi LaForge in 2367, and was successful in turning the engineer into a Romulan operative. The Romulan plot to have LaForge murder the Klingon governor Vagh was foiled by Picard after Data managed to identify the mind control method which had been used.1
