A native of the planet 892/IV, Septimus was a Senator in the governing body of that world. When he turned away from the official state religion he was stripped of all rank and became a slave. He escaped from captivity and lived rough in the hills with a group of other escapees. In 2267 he assisted Captain Kirk in his search for the survivors of the SS Beagle, a ship which had been lost nearby.1
