A citizen of the Varro multi-generation ship encountered by Voyager in 2375, Tal was unhappy with life on the ship and wanted to divide the many independant modules so that they could make their own way through the galaxy. To that end she devised a parasite capable of attacking the structure holding the modules together. Tal developed a romantic relationship with Harry Kim during his time aboard the generational ship.1
