An astronomer who worked for Henry Starling on 20th century Earth, Rain became involved in the battle between Starling and Voyager over the future technology he had been using to drive the computer revolution in the latter part of the century.2 She was attracted to Tom Paris, though the two did not have any real chance to have a relationship.3
