Tash was encountered by Voyager in the Delta quadrant in 2376. He had been exploring a wormhole when it threw him hundreds of light years across space. To aid his return Tash built a null space catapult. Voyager's crew assisted him in getting the system working in return for a chance to use it themselves afterwards.1
