Husband of Mika, Benyan was a member of Dukat's pagh-wraith cult on Empok Nor. His wife had an affair with Dukat which resulted in her pregnancy; Dukat tried to claim that the baby was Benyan's, and had been transformed in the womb by the wraiths as a sign. Benyan came to realise that Dukat was misleading the cult members when he tried to convince them to commit suicide.1
