A reasonable episode, but I think they spent a bit too long getting going and then crammed the most interesting bits into the second half. There was a huge wasted opportunity as well. If I understand things correctly, the alien (in Paris' body) swaps bodies with the captain. I *really* wanted to see Robert Duncan McNeill playing Captain Janeway, just let your imagination play with that one for a while. Almost "Turnabout Intruder" in reverse. If they had moved things further forwards, so that the last swap occurred at half-distance, then the second half might have been a classic. As it is, it didn't quite work. |
