An episode with the scope of "Scorpion" needs a "recovery" episode, similar to what was done with TNG's "Family" after "The Best of Both Worlds". While there is nothing spectacular about this episode in general, it's not a bad one either. The fact that the writers were considerate enough to do an episode like this does deserve some praise, and like I said, there's nothing wrong with it, just a calm down from "Scorpion". 3/5. |

This was a good wind-down from "Scorpion". We see Seven of Nine beginning her own personal journey as she rediscovers her humanity, or at least that seems to be the metaphor they use, which would be in keeping with the general theme. Much has been made of the catsuit, but is it really much more revealing than Counsellor Troi's leotard, or Major Kira's uniform for that matter? It is also our farewell to Kes, who was never very convincing as a character. Still, it turned into a fairly big thing, and was a decent excuse for the first 'leap' towards home. Perhaps they should have given us a few more episodes running and hiding from the Borg, but it was sensible to clear their territory quickly. Finally, they actually gave us an excuse for removing the Borg technology, which was a lot better than simply ditching it when it had been very useful. Verdict, a decent episode. |

Small technicality, but I would have liked to see Kes' abilities develop towards the end of last season, so when the moment came, it would feel more like 7 was replacing Kes rather than Kes being replaced by 7.... If you know what I mean. |

Oct08bill reith There never were all that many decent ornagiil Star Trek novels, and its been a while since I've seen any that *don't* feel like fan fiction. But heck, some of the ones I really liked (and in fact reread) weren't necessarily great literature they just caught my attention. So perhaps this one will catch someone's eye, too, thanks to your mention of it. Good for you! |

Love the analogy, agree with it tatloly.Hate to be a picky person, though, but the captain of the Enterprise D was Picard . Would hate to see your credibility hurt with a misspelling like that. And no, I'm not a Trekkie I just like good writing and acting in TV shows, and TNG had it more often than not. I had to Google the spelling of the name to make sure it was right, though, before I posted here!I also wonder what you’re going to begin outsourcing ? |
