Not the greatest episode ever written. Not a real stinker, just not great. It was almost as though they could not decide where to go with the script. Seemed to be a 'Howcatchum?' detective story, but it did not really work as that. About half-way through, I thought that it would only be the three aliens and Data still standing in the last 5 minutes. That did not happen, and that is about all I can say. Still, I can't believe that the Federation, with Vulcans, Betazoids and so many other telepathic races doesn't have a law against mind-invasion, so a possible YATI there. Finally, Picard with hair, great moment, but where did the Borg implant come from? |
