Title : Crucible: McCoy: Provenance of Shadows Rating : 4
Writers : David R. George III Year : 2006
Review : w\Wonderful story of two possible lives of Dr. McCoy from the future and the past, this book weaves all sorts of different Star Trek mythos into it, from Edith Keeler to Benny Russell. Very imaginitive read.
Title : Crucible: Spock: The Fire and the Rose Rating : 3
Writers : David R. George III Year : 2006
Review : This secomd book of the trilogy was not up to snuff with the first. It was promising, but, after I read the entire length of the Provenence of Shadows, I quite simply found this one to be too short....
Title : Crucible: Kirk: The Star to Every Wandering Rating : 3
Writers : David R. George III Year : 2007
Review : Decent book, the first of the three was certainly the best, however.
Title : Resistance Rating : 2
Writers : J.M. Dillard Year : 2007
Review : Nice try, but the characters fall flat and the intended malice of the antagonists (borg) ends up crap.
Title : Taking Wing Rating : 5
Writers : Andy Mangels, Michael A. Martin Year : 2005
Review : This was a great debut effort for Capt. Riker and his motley crew of non-humanoids. Very interesting characters, good use of previously known peoples, solid story, too bad this won't be a feature film or TV show.....
Title : The Eugenics Wars: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh - Volume I Rating : 5
Writers : Greg Cox Year : 2001
Review : .....Frickin' awesome! Love Khan....
Title : Dark Mirror Rating : 4
Writers : Diane Duane Year : 1993
Review : 4 of 5 for effort, if DS9 hadn't played with the Mirror Universe, this could easily have been a logical progression of the Empire. Still a solid story.
Title : Titan : The Red King Rating : 4
Writers : Andy Mangels, Michael A. Martin Year : 2005
Review : Great follow-up to Taking Wing. It's always good to see Romulans about...
Title : The Eugenics Wars: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh - Volume II Rating : 5
Writers : Greg Cox Year : 2002
Review : Come on, it's KHAN. How could you not love the most arrogant bad guy ever...
Title : Mosaic Rating : 3
Writers : Jeri Taylor Year : 1996
Review : Ehhh....It was OK, decent use of approximate time frames on regards to other characters, but Janeway came of to me as a little too neurotic for her own good. I just couldn't see someone like that succeeding at command.
Title : Ex Machina Rating : 4
Writers : Christopher L. Bennett Year : 2005
Review : Good story of what happens immediately after the events of TMP and the "ascention" of V'ger. It gives a good account of the relationship between Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, and what drives them together, using some good TOS history. Must read!
Title : The Buried Age Rating : 4
Writers : Christopher L. Bennett Year : 2007
Review : This one was good! It's always fun to hear about the backstory on a favorite character, and this one deserves recognition. Very well done.
Title : A Time to Be Born Rating : 0
Writers : John Vornholt Year : 2004
Review : It's clear to me that, after all the Vornholdt books I've read, that this was intended to be a slap in the face to Stat Trek. Barf.
Title : A Time to Die Rating : 0
Writers : John Vornholt Year : 2004
Review : Flee, flee for life! Run from the book! Do not pick it up!
Title : Star Trek: The Motion Picture Rating : 4
Writers : Gene Roddenberry Year : 1979
Review : Good stuff, although Gene was a bit long-winded in his sentence structure.
