Review : Year: 2375 Stardate: Unknown "Someone or something is trying to kill Seven of Nine. As the crew races against time to save millions of refugees from an imminent stellar cataclysm, the former Borg becomes the target of several seemingly random but potentially lethal 'accidents.' The investigation reveals a truth more terrifying than anyone ever imagined, as Captain Kathryn Janeway and the crew of the Starship Voyager fight for their lives against the most unexpected enemy of all." A very well written book with only the most basic flaws. This would have turned out to be a very good episode. The book gracefully combines the nice atmosphere of Voyager's fifth season with the dark atmosphere of Deep Space Nine, which really adds to the story. It's good that the Section 31 influence in this story is extremely light. Only the prolouge and epilogue are real heavy on the organization. The epilogue is quite fun to read when you see the agents log entries describing how much of an idiot she thinks Captain Janeway is. The prolouge of course explains how Section 31 got onboard Voyager, which was of course before she was launched. It's a fairly typical explination, and probably the one you're thinking, but I'm not going to spoil anything just incase... The main plot consumes the best parts of the story, and parts of the secondary plot are nice as well. The only thing about the secondary plot I didn't like was all the Lyspa/Andra time. I believe the book could have survived without as much time spent with them. More of the story should have been focused on Voyager and the Rhawn Emperor Aetayn. All and all a very nice book and a good read for any Voyager fan. Highly recommended.
