Koinonian Anti Personnel Mine1
An anti-personnel mine. Seven of these devices were located by the Enterprise-D in 2366, leftovers of the Koinonian Wars; one detonated when an away team was passing, killing Lieutenant Aster. The devices employ a subspace proximity detonator, and cannot be detected by a normal tricorder scan. The lethal radius is less than three metres.1
