Review

Series : Voyager Rating : 5
Disc No : 4.7 Episode : 94
First Aired : 20 May 1998 Stardate : 51978.2
Director : Winrich Kolbe Year : 2374
Writers : Jeri Taylor Season : 4
Guest Cast :
Jack Shearer as Admiral Hayes Ray Wise as Arturis
Factoid : The NX-01A registry of the Dauntless should, by Starfleet standards, mean that there was an NX-01 USS Dauntless - perhaps the first Starfleet ship ever built. If that ship went into full service its number would change to NCC-01. However, we have now seen the NX-01 USS Enterprise in the show "Enterprise". This apparent contradiction isn't necessarily a problem, as Enterprise isn't a Starfleet ship and Earth may number its vessels differently.

Plotline

An alien with a gift for languages offers to translate the scrambled message Voyager recieved from Starfleet a while back. Amazingly, the message reports the location of a new Starfleet vessel with a "slipstream" drive which has been sent on autopilot to the Delta Quadrant. With this USS Dauntless, the crew can get back home within a few months. But Janeway has a nagging feeling that things might be too good to be true...
