YATI : Jo'brill took an awful chance, pretending to be dead like that. It's a good thing Crusher didn't autopsy him.
Great Moment : Like Troi in "Face of the Enemy", it's nice to see an episode that gives Crusher a little room to grow.
Body Count : Two.
Factoid : One of the most heavily re-written episodes ever, this was originally a murder mystery story for Worf, but the discovery in question was that warp drive was destroying the fabric of space. It was to feature lots of flashbacks and voiceovers in film-noir style, never used before on TNG. First the ecological angle was lost, then Worf was replaced by Crusher, then a more usual structure was adopted, then at the last minute Guinan was added because this was the only slot Whoppi Goldberg was available for.
Quote : "After all, a Ferengi scientist is almost a contradiction in terms!" - Reyga to Crusher.
