YATI : Riker claims that he does not know if Troi can hear him whilst in a coma in this episode. Even today you can tell if a person can hear a sound by examining their brain wave patterns - this is how they diagnose deafness in very young children. Has Starfleet lost this ability? Or does it just not work on Betazoid women?
Great Moment : Picard's hair in Beverly's flashback.
Body Count : Zero deaths, though there are a number of comas.
Factoid : Although only three characters have memory flashbacks in this episode, such scenes were written for every major character.
Quote : "Earth was once a violent planet too. At times, the chaos threatened the very fabric of life. But like you, we evolved. We found better ways to handle our conflicts. But I think noone can deny that the seed of violence remains within each of us, We must recognise that, because that violence is capable of consuming each of us." - Picard to Tarmin.
