When the Enterprise delivers medical supplies to Dramia, Dr. McCoy is arrested for mass murder and jailed. Nineteen years earlier McCoy had created an vaccine for a Saurian virus on Dramia II, but after he left a plague wiped out most of the population. The Enterprise must save it's Chief Medical Officer - and deal with a new outbreak of the same plague which threatens the crew. |

This episode shows the Enterprise's hangar bay doors opening from the outside, something never once seen in TOS because the cost was too high. Nurse Chapel is called 'Lieutenant' in this episode, establisheing for the first time what her rank is. My year for this episode is estimated from the Stardate; it is one of a group of TAS episodes set between 'The Empath' and 'The Mark of Gideon'. This episode is a nominee for the DITL "Best of Trek" award. |
