Director : Roxann Dawson Year : 2152
Writers : Brannon Braga, Fred Dekker, Rick Berman Season : 1
Guest Cast :
Joseph Will as RostovRenee Goldsberry as Kelly
Vaughn Armstrong as Kreetassan Captain
Plotline : While Enterprise entertains an alien race a cultural blunder causes great offence. The aliens leave in anger, but as they go a creature of some sort crawls from their ship onto Enterprise. The web-like creature begins growing in the cargo bay, ensnaring any crewmembers it can get hold of. With Archer and Trip both captured, the crew must struggle to defeat the apparently invincible monster.

YATI : When undocking from Enterprise, the alien ship detached before the airlock outer door was closed. This is a pretty bad idea, for obvious reasons. Even stranger, how did the alien monster get from the airlock to the interior of the ship? Airlocks have to be airtight by their very nature, so the alien should have been trapped, unless it could somehow open the inner door?

Also, this creature was said to be very sensitive to EM radiation. Yet on its home planet, it clearly lives on the surface - and stays there during the day, as evidenced by the shot of the shuttle taking off. Wouldn't all the light from the sun count as EM radiation? Is the creature in pain all day, every day?
Great Moment : Phlox's fight for equal rights for severed tentacles.
Body Count : None. Archer isn't even beaten up, though he and several others are sucked up by the web monster.
Factoid : This is the first time we see Humans create a forcefield of their own.
Quote : "You'll like it. Things blow up." - Trip trying to convince Reed to watch this week's movie.
