"Fan" Films

I apologize if there is a seperate thread or board for this topic but I did not see one.
Where do "fan" films such as "Of Gods And Men" And "Prelude To Axanar" fit on this site?
I ask because of the massive backlash against "Discovery" and the Kelvin Timeline. I have not yet had the oppotunity to see "Discovery" but have an extremely low opinion of the Kelvin Timeline.
