So I had an idea a while back about a Federation starship/starbase with the following:
Human commanding officer
Vulcan science officer
Andorian chief of security
Tellarite chief engineer
Deltan chief medical officer
Arkenite helmsman
Ferengi communications officer

Does anyone see a problem with this arrangement?

My original idea would be mid to late 22nd century

I see a problem. There's no evidence that Arkenites or Deltans were known to the UFP species at that point, but there's no positive evidence to say that they weren't, so you could get around that. Ferengis were encountered once in ENT but not identified, and were an unknown species to the UFP as of TNG, so I can't see how one would be serving on a Federation crew in the 2100's.

Well Ferengi you got me on but Travis Mayweather was quoted in the Enterprise episode Bound that his family's ship the ECS Horizon did pick up a crew of Deltans, so it would be possible though unlikely as they didn't join the Federation until a century later.
