No it's not. If you don't want it, don't buy it - then you have expended no time, money, or space.

In general, it is. I just see no need for remastering of... well, anything.

No, there is no NEED. It's a question of "want" - does Paramount want to make more money from one of their properties, and do any fans want to see it in its remastered incarnation? The answer to the first questions is oviously "yes," and to the second question... yeah, it appears that some do.

There doesn't need to be a particular need for anything. There's no particular reason for me to buy five pairs of socks when I only need to buy three. Does this mean the extra two pairs are a waste? Nope, because I'll still use them.
Same for the remastered versions. I, personaly, don't particularly care about the graphics. But a lot of people do, and they'd like to see the effects redone. If they buy the remastered version, they'll watch them and get enjoyment out of them. Therefore, they have served their purpose.

Well, for those who buy it, I legit hope you enjoy it. I just don't see the need-in any sense of the word-to tamper with it.

True, and I also think that there's little point in updating the graphics. Though I can see why they are doing it.
