Well, the only reason he admitted it was because it was already announced that Mueller was investigating him for obstruction of justice. To me, "admitting" something that was already announced by a third party isn't really much of an admission.

Has he ever denied being investigated for firing the FBI Director? Not that I know of. Being investigated by the individual who advised that he do it is a bit shady. Don't ya think? By the way, is he talking about Mueller or some one on Mueller's team?

He denied that firing Comey was related to the investigation, but what's at issue in the investigation is his part in Russian involvement in the election.
