On the starship service history page, I noticed that each line (most at least) are two different shades, one light and one dark. What is the reason for the two different shades? Unless I missed something, I did not see any explanation for this on the page.
BTW, that was a cool idea for a page. Very interesting.

The brighter bar is the build run, i.e. the period during which ships were being built and launched. The darker line shows the ships in service, but not in construction.
