Throughout the whole series I got the impression that Cardassian tech was inferior to Federation. From the ship match ups to Miles complaining about DS9. Also when you'd have Sisko and Dukat negotiation or whatever Sisko was constantly holding the Federations ability to win a war between the two over Dukats head. Sort of a US vs middle eastern country match up where the US has better technology and can win...but doesn't want to have to.
That said I could see some amusing series of episodes or a movie or something where strange circumstances drive some Feds to capture and use such a ship for a while.
