There haven't been many sci-fi remakes that have gone through more development hell than Blake's 7. The legendary British series, broadcast on the BBC from 1978 to 1981, has often seemed destined to remain in the 70s, with every attempt to revive it having fallen at one hurdle or another.

Most recently, the show was due to appear on SyFy, with talk that a 13-episode series order was placed back in 2013. That, though, didn't seem to come to all that much, and now the word is that the Xbox Live Network is the most likely place for us to see a return for the bleak sci-fi show - an obvious precursor to beloved series' such as the Battlestar Galactica reboot and Firefly.

Whether we'll ever actually see it is another matter entirely, but at least some concept art has now been released, and it's...totally H.R. Giger...

And a little bit Firefly...

And very post-apocalyptic...

I hope that ship is a Federation ship rather than the Liberator...

I see a lot of Giger derivation, but not much that's worthy of the man himself.

Not phallic enough?

Just not enough. Not organic enough, not outre enough, not unsettling enough.
