Sorry for the double, but has anyone else chimed in about the scenario of the next mission - i.e., us; a task group; a fleet; etc.?

I plan on keeping one of mine. Not sure which.

Alright, someone earlier brought up the question of the next mission. I have edited the poll accordingly. If you have any other suggestions for a mission profile, let me know.

I think a search/rescue mission would be more inclusive considering we've also got MACOs on board, as well as being a nice and simple little into mission.

Also gives a lot of scope for other missions afterward.

I've posted a proposed ship for Enterprise - Beta

Thoughts?

Seems good, although I think the manoeuvrability is very high. I sorta imagine this thing to be a bit like a bloated space whale.

That was one of the things I didn't touch. Straight off the main page. Perhaps the maneuverability should be less than an NX class, yet greater than a Connie? As they get bigger, they seem less maneuverable.

That seems appropriate. Any NX pilot would feel she's a wallow pudding of a ship.

Excellent turn of phrase.

Also, I had a few ideas. First, I'd like to up the MACO count to fifty. That'll give us four full squads of twelve (which can be broken down into four fire teams each), plus the LT, and 1st Sgt. That's actually platoon strength, and what a LT would command in the first place. It makes sense as well when you consider that the Daedalus class has about three times the crew, and at this time would be outfitted for war. Combined with ships security forces, that would likely give us around 80 to 100 "warriors" to fight with.

I had a realization as well. In the Prime universe, nobody saw a Romulan until balance of terror, but nobody said squat about Remans. It should be safe for "cannon" for us to engage Reman troops, giving us an enemy face to face to do battle with.

Also, do you suppose the Romulans would employ mercs at this point in history?

I'm stuck. I can't decide whether to use one of my existing characters, or make a new one. Any opinions?

Promote one of your old ones, and give him a new job. We have plenty of openings now, so find him a new one 8)

BTW, how far in the future will this take us? If we're gonna take a Daedalus it needs to be 2158, at least. What year did we start Ent Alpha in?

I always got the impression that the Earth-Romulan War was entirely a space-borne affair... what would be the rationale behind billeting a full platoon aboard?
