Star Trek Infinite Space

Post by Atekimogus »

Well, it seems that there is a new star trek game in the works, a free to play browsergame.........well, it won't probably be any good, still the intro-trailer looks rather neat, kinda like a DS9 dominion war battle-scene. (And they use at least canon ships, not like the star trek online abominations)

That trailer was awesome.

As for everyone else, take a look at the Star Trek: Infinite Space site

Well, the only browser game I had experience with so far is Quake Live and I fully expect this game having about the same depth and complexity. (Not a bad thing, mind you, it is supposed to be casual after all).

What is positive is:
To ensure that a full Star Trek feeling is achieved, Star Trek experts Mike and Denise Okuda are assisting us
and
The game is set in the Deep Space Nine timeline
Could be very nice, I am hoping for a more tactical (read starfleet command) and less action oriented (read bridge commander) game but let's see.
I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite store on the Citadel.

I'm a fan of both SFC and BC... would love a good combo of the two, but that will never happen.

It could, its just getting the balance that's the key. And also incredibly difficult.

If that's the only flaw we saw so far, I'll take it in spades. The operative term, if you recall, is this quote taken from the site:
free
I can't stand nothing dull
I got the high gloss luster
I'll massacre your ass as fast
as Bull offed Custer

Oh I know, not complaining exactly, was just a bit surprised to see one explode from a half second of phaser fire.

Well, in YE, one exploded from a second or so...

Edit: from the looks of it, seemed everyone had their shields down for the vid. BTW, if graphics are that good, I'd pay to play it.

Same for me, the graphics are way way way superior to things like ST:O (and the abominations they make for ships, although I like a lot of their Klingon ones). Being browser based, I doubt they will be that good but its still free.

Alpha testing is available for sign up, but you need pass port or driving licence as proof of identity.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
