What's the year, make, and model? Even for a manual trans, $3145 U.S. sounds like an awfully good deal for a 40,000 mile used car - and I have been in the business.

If there's no body work, I think you got a steal. Probably because it's eight model years old, which shouldn't mean too much as long as it's been serviced regularly. 5000 miles/year is phenomenal - most wholesale pricing guides allow about 12,000 per year.

Congratulations, and I'm sure you'll be able to shift by sound alone.

If I could hear the exhaust, maybe, but realistically, you either know how to drive or you dont.

Pop into 3rd at above 20mph, 4th at 30/35 5th at 50mph

if im not driving like a nob, that is :-D

There's no body work done, its just that since the Focus replaced the Escort, its value dropped almost instantly, depreciation = fun

Turns out theres a huge scratch on the rear spoiler and the left rear light cluster was cracked but resealed. Still good deal tho

I'm not going to do the conversion right now, but that work should be no more than $200 - $250 US.

Spoiler and light cluster im not bothered about, you have to put your face on it to see it, and they work fine.

Got a wire loose in the radio/CD player, when I shift hard it sometimes changes from CD to FM, haha. Otherwise just needs some tires and will be fine. Goin in for tax and MOT today :-)

actually went to fire it up the other day.

Bought it monday. Drove home. Tired to start it wednesday.

Battery was fucked! Cheeky bastard sold me a car with a dead battery. Thus his life must end.

How long did the car sit idle before you tried to start it? The battery may not be dead, it may just need a trickle charge.
