Yeah, it probably wouldn't be all that soothing.
Give me a regular shower any day.

I absolutely agree... :) Although, a sonic shower in a hotel might not be a bad idea - no need for scratchy hotel bath towels!

You obviously need to stay at better hotels.

And really, how much fun would it be to watch a girl take a sonic shower? "Oh baby, I love the way your skin subtly vibrates."

Doesn't sound so bad when you put it that way... and no more looking for quarters for the Magic Fingers...

*note to self: start staying in hotels where the standard stay is more than five hours*

What was that show... had the characters that were drawn like their skin was constantly rolling. Dr. Katz or something? Yeah, not finding that as sexy as water and suds.

Yeah, animated "Dr. Katz" characters weren't what I was thinking of.

I don't think it'll be that kind of vibration.

Yeah, never mind the 'lethal" aspects of a practical sonic shower, I couldn't do without a good, hot, shower.

Clearly, the ship has air filters, and it might well clean it's own walls and carpets (which usually looked pretty clean). Equally clearly, it does not tidy up crew quarters; in the context Riker said it this makes it a seeming contradiction. Of course, this would be the least of the things the 'Trek writers have "thrown away."

OTOH, Riker was angling to give her his own "personal cleaning," which he eventually did... Perhaps we can take him with a grain of salt in this context!

You could simply postulate that the automatic systems primarily focus on the public areas of the ship. If ensign Ricky wants to live in a pig stye that's his business. Alternately it could just be a roomba like thing that comes in and scrubs things but doesn't pick anything up.

Riker wasn't angling specifically for anything - it took him forever to get the hint that she was interested.

Hmm, right. Sorry - I remembered Riker eventually tasting her goods but I haven't seen the ep in a bit. Of course, we already know perfectly well that for a guy that somehow manages to get more than anyone else in that staid crew, Riker is kind of a moron.

This is the bloke who got the Federation's flagship captured by a bunch of Ferengi, and destroyed by an obsolete heap of scrap. His favourite tactic is "fire one shot, then give up".

Seafort, you must pick between two people to help you in battle...

Me... or Riker... :happydevil:

One likely to kill you, the other likely to get you killed. :laughroll:

Well, Tyyr, if I need to stay in better hotels, I'm going to need Shatner's help on Priceline.com... 8)
