Best Fan-Ships
Ok, we've seen some truly awful abominations in the "Worst," thread. So lets see some good ones.
The Apollo, an Ambassador based version of the Nebula.

I quite like that in fact.

Its ok but why does the pob on top look like a giant turbine?
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

It's a cross between an Ambassador, a Nebula, and a Harrier.

Re: Best Fan-Ships
It's nice, and beautifully drawn, but I'd like it better if the nacelles attached low on the hull instead of up high like that. I'd also prefer if the struts were rounded instead of right angled like that.

I like that. The specs may be a bit wanky, but the design is a nice combination of the runabout with the interceptor/scout from INS.

I agree, I dunno how you get something that size to warp eight but I like the overall design.

It is quite aerodynamic...although that does little for space flight. I suppose the warp bubble could be pretty small and hugging of the hull. Depending on how powerful the warp reactor is, it might be capable of getting pretty high warp. Although I think warp 8 is rather high. I would say warp 7 at the highest.

Re: Best Fan-Ships
While it looks slightly awkward, the Apollo was always a cool idea for a design. I could see it being built as almost a frankenstein test-bed, people liking the idea, and then the Nebula coming along!

Re: Best Fan-Ships
The phasers are a bit high (I'd have said type-V, maybe VI tops), but given that Voyager's shuttles could make warp nine the speed isn't much of a problem. Of course, calling it less wanked than Voyager's shuttles isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.

I don't even mind the armament, as the phasers are said to be banks rather than arrays. 8 might be a lot for a ship that size, but it's not too bad. The speed is really what seems to be too much for that ship.

Re: Best Fan-Ships
Type VIIs seems awful large for a Runabout. Voyager was said to have Type VIIIs!
Drop the phasers to Type IV, V at the most, and it would be better.
The high warp don't bother me too much.

Wow... he made a Sovereign in the style of the JJprise.
