Which also begs the question, if they chased the Doctor into a shuttle..........why didn't he use the shuttle's transproters to beam uber-antibiotic into the holodeck?

The shuttle's transporters are always immediately removed and melted down whenever a shuttle returns to the ship. True story.

Not just the transporter system, the whole shuttle. They're ten a penny, dime a dozen and there's a giant replicator in the shuttle bay that just makes a new one. Fact.
