Re: What if Voyager had been a Sovereign-class?
yes, but nothing too bad, most of the damage would be superficial to the hull, the shields would be gone, and weapons systems would be taxed, the the ship would be able to get to spacedock under it's own power.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Sorry if I'm late to the thread, but don't even joke about putting this much offensive power into the hands of Kathryn Janeway! What if Voyager had been a Sovereign-class?

Well they did make her an admiral.

Exactly. They gave her a desk job to keep her away from the helm of a ship.

Aye, someone must have figured that leaving her in charge of a ship was a bad idea.

Many Delta Quadrant species would have a new one ripped wide open
There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.

Yeah, she would build a Janeway Empire somewhere across the DQ. Then Voy would never get home.

Their enemies would have become proportionally stronger so they'd still be a threat.

I'm fairly certain this is an in-universe question, not one of writer's fiat.

Of course.
My question relates to what we saw in the series, not with, say, half competent and menacing Kazons...

The appropriate place to stick Janeway wasn't in a desk job, it was at the short end of court martial.

There's got to be a planet somewhere whose rotation matches its revolution. That would be the appropriate place to stick Janeway, because that planet would always have a location where the sun don't shine.

That comes after the court martial, there are procedures to follow.
