Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
I for one wouldn't mind a remake of TNG even, its just, how do you replace Patrick Stewart and the other actors?!
THAT'S the impossible task.

Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
idk, I can pretty easily see all of them but Riker and Picard being replaced, maybe Data, but the rest of them can be recast IMO
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
Wouldn't remaking TNG confuse the hell out of people though?

probably, It might be a better idea to just go on a different ship during the same time.

They recast TOS and that cast is a little more iconic then TNG.Lazar wrote:Wouldn't remaking TNG confuse the hell out of people though?

Well, I hope you're right but I just don't see anyone being able to fill Patrick Stewart's shoes, ever.Lt. Staplic wrote:idk, I can pretty easily see all of them but Riker and Picard being replaced, maybe Data, but the rest of them can be recast IMO
Yes, exactly!Lazar wrote:Wouldn't remaking TNG confuse the hell out of people though?
Part of my evil plan to rewrite Trek history (well, at least the first few seasons of TNG need it for sure).
Like the Enterprise C?Lt. Staplic wrote:probably, It might be a better idea to just go on a different ship during the same time.
Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
Hmm, maybe our Worst Star Trek Plot Ever could involve an encounter with completely recast TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT crews.LaughingCheese wrote:Part of my evil plan to rewrite Trek history (well, at least the first few seasons of TNG need it for sure).

Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
There's a little more time between the airing of TOS and now, though - and ST:XI was always intended to be prior to the events of TOS.Cpl Kendall wrote:They recast TOS and that cast is a little more iconic then TNG.Lazar wrote:Wouldn't remaking TNG confuse the hell out of people though?

Wait, what?
How is Chris Pine more iconic than William Shatner?
I dont follow...?
Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
He meant that the original characters were more iconic. But in fact, I think it's for that reason that it's easier (i.e. less confusing) to recast the TOS crew than the TNG crew.

Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
true, people know the captain of the Enterprise as James T. Kirk, not William Shatner...the E-D's captain is Patrick Stewart.

Re: ST:XI Predictions Thread
Exactly. When most people hear "Star Trek", they immediately think of Kirk, Spock and Scotty. Ask any non-Trek fan to name five characters from The Next Generation. If they even know what TNG is, you'll be lucky to get any more than Picard and Riker.

Nah I think Worf and maybe even Data are fairly well known.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.
