Oh GOD!!! I had a horrid thought. You don't suppose they'll actually make THIS Jim Kirk ever utter the words, "Beam me up, Scotty." do you?

Now that you mention it, they probably will.

Sort of like how, in Apollo 13 (which was otherwise quite accurate), they had them say the iconic "Houston, we have a problem", when in reality, what they said was "Houston, we've had a problem".

"Beam me up, Scotty." was never actually said; it's a misquote, like "Do you feel lucky, punk?"

Yeah, there's a ton of famous misquotations that have become parts of pop culture. In many cases, it seems like the misquotations are sort of a condensed version that makes something sound better out of its original context.

Its too bad the original authors didn't think of those, they do sound so much better.
