Say what you will about the showm but the intrepid is not a bad ship. Much better looking than the Defiant and the GCS.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Actually I find it one of the uglier in Trek history. Both the GCS and the Defiant look better to me. Those tiny nacelles look ridiculous on the Intrepid. It's just plain unbalanced looking.

How a ship 'looks' or if it's ugly or beautiful is in the eye of the beholder. I love the Galaxy and Defiant. And the Inrepid. Heck, I don't think of any Starfleet ship as 'ugly'.

Striker, have you seen the Yeager, that is undeniably ugly, it is, it's a mix of the Maquis ship, and the intrepid.

Of course not. It doesn't exist.

Please don't tell me you think that looks good, and it's canon too.

Ah, the good old days, when Steve Martin was funny.
Captain Navin R. Johnson of the USS Optigrab?

Going back to the "America-centric" thoughts, TOS brought us "U.S.S." I know it probably stands for United Space Ship or United Star Ship (canon?) but it undoubtedly comes from United States Ship...

Would H.M.S. stand for Highly Manuverable Ship in Trek?

So the Defiant should be an HMS instead of a USS...
