Granted, this redesign is a bit too radical for my tastes as well, but we have yet to see her on the big screen, in motion.

As to the look - it's already been shown that XI is an alternate reality. Why wouldn't there be minor differences?

Quite true, but still. The E-Nill is pretty much the star of the show for the fans. Changing it to something that looks completely different would be both pointless and annoying.
