Great "What If?" topic. Yeah, I'd say so. They were doing so well. Ericson might have posed problems, but I think he'd have propsered.

I have no doubt about it. What I wonder though, would the genetic engineering break down after a while? Say after 10 or 20 generations, would the supermen still be "super", or would genetic defects have reduced them to our state again?

I gotta agree. When Ericsson got a wife, Khan noted that it was a good thing and it might've curbed his tendencies to dissidence. And the challenge of carving out a home in untamed wilderness that wasn't a hellhole...

Oh, yeah.

Interesting... Sort of like a reverse X-men.

I leave that to someone more knowledgeable in such areas.

Or would selective breeding have made them even more "elite"?

So long as inferior genes werent introduced I would ingain they would remain super.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Aye. As long as no normal humans got involved their offspring should have been just the same (assuming, of course, this can be transferred from parent to child). Though they'd probably have problems with inbreeding over times, due to the small number of them.

This is going to sound quite stupid, but I've often been curious. Is an augment or "superman" stronger than a Vulcan??? Anyone know for sure??? I've thought them awfully close physically.

I don't know. I recall hearing "three times stronger (than a human)" about Vulcans a few times, and I think Khan's strength was stated in "Space Seed" as about the same.

Malaki, in Cold Station 12 stated his to be 5 times Archers, of course he didn't strike me as the humble type so he COULD have been exagerating. Or Soong tweaked HIS augments more that Khan's group.

Sounds reasonable. I think they were supposed to be more advanced, at least physically.

Even so, I could SOOO imagine Khan spanking them all, like spoiled brats.

We see Khan in ST:TWOK easily lifting large pieces of metal off of Joachim. In the book it is said he was able to support the weight of a huge stone pillar for hours. We also see Khan easily lift Chekov off his feet in the Botany Bay, using just the grip on his space suit. Assuming Chekov with the space suit was 200lbs, this would be an incredible feat. A lift of 40-50lbs in barbell form in in that manner is extremely difficult for any length of time, and I'm admittedly pretty strong. I think 4-5x minimum the strength of a human isn't unreasonable.

In the book, Marla was unable to mate with Khan. So no normal human genes there.
