My curiosity is piqued. I'm interested to see what could have happened in that milieu with some actual thoughtfulness put into the writing.

the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

Here's the introduction. I hope this doesn't count as advertising for another site. If so, my apologies Graham.

In a nutshell, Romulans are using a device to capture enemy ships and control them in attacks against Federation targets. This is mainly done to break up the new Coalition of Planets (the future Federation), largely by framing the Klingons. The plot is eventually figured out, but not before the sith hits the fan.

I dunno where you're from, but the 4 nearest me in CT have only the most recent Trek novels. Amazon is great, very often, as you can usually get dirt cheap used books or new ones and save on shipping if you buy multiple.

That whole "dont' advertise sites" rule is really more to prevent people saying "Hey, come look at my new site!". Plenty of us have refferenced and linked to other sites before.

There's even a whole subforum to talk about websites, it's not a problem to do that. The rule is there for people advertising paysites to try and attract customers; discussion of free sites is not an issue.

I've always thought that the "Kobayashi Maru" was an odd name. What IS that? Any historical reference???

The "Maru" suffix indicates a Japanese merchant ship, and "Kobayashi" is a common Japanese surname. Beyond that I have no idea.

Probably just something they thought sounded cool.
