So it didn't hit the wheel or tire at all. It hit a metal thing in the rubber thing on the back of the truck (sorry about my lack of knowledge of the technical names). And yet this was able to rupture the tire.

You're still missing the point - an anti-tank weapon would have ripped the entire wheel off. A rifle round would have gone through that flange, the tire, and half a dozen others. All the phaser did was clip the bottom of the flange and burst the tire.

If you say so... maybe Mythbusters could test that. The rifles I mean, not the phaser.

I'll concede the point... for now.

Seafort's a military historian. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to weapons.

If youre still not convinced, ask Kendall. He's in the military.

Or, you can ask me; I've got one friend in the USMC, and another who's worked at a rifle and pistol range for 8 years. I know a thing or two about firearms, and yes, a large caliber bullet (.308/7.62mm or higher) would plow through the tire (or tyre, if that's your thing), and probably blow the next tire, or one on the other side.

Or you could ask me, I dont know a thing about guns but thats never stopped me before. I'll just agree with Seafort since he's always right and bask in his reflected glory...
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I don't know much about firearms, but I know commercial and medium-duty trucks. That "thing" is a simple mud flap, and is required by law if the rear bumper/step/load floor of the truck is a certain height off the ground. Those mud flaps, although made of fairly heavy grade rubber and banded with steel or aluminum, have a common tendency of breaking when the wheel kicks up a fair-sized pebble - I don't think they'd do much to change the velocity vector or KE of a bullet.

For those of you who don't know. A couple of 9mm rounds can blow out a truck tire.

F|_|CK THAT! I'm betting my army of 200,000 Chakats armed with bags of bullsh!t to throw will be within a mile of Stalingrad in a matter of mere hours, until they are all banned because b.s. isn't allowed! :DITL:
