Battleship class name
Vote for whichever name you think would be best for the class of our new battleship.
I'll do the one for the ship name itself tomorrow.

Re: Battleship class name
Since we're leaving out all my suggestions simply because they're almost impossible to pronounce or spell ( ) I'm going with Paladin-class. I think it's a good combo of indicating fighting ability with the Federation's paragon, holier-than-thou self-image.

Re: Battleship class name
Are we trying to tie in the ship name to the class name? If it were to be the Paladin-class, would we be looking for ship names like Galahad, Roland, Percivale, Hugues de Payens, etc.?

Just kidding
I still think it should be the USS Paladin. First in her series, wouldn't she be?

Re: Battleship class name
She doesn't need to be first in her series. Just a new one. E-E isn't the first in its series just a new one.

Re: Battleship class name
True, but the E-Es class name is Soverign, thus the first one produced would have been the USS Soverign. Will our battleship have a sister ship?Monroe wrote:She doesn't need to be first in her series. Just a new one. E-E isn't the first in its series just a new one.

Re: Battleship class name
I'm still voting for Paladin, for exactly those reasons. If this were my poll, it'd be a lot longer, and full of sticky options.Mikey wrote:...I'm going with Paladin-class. I think it's a good combo of indicating fighting ability with the Federation's paragon, holier-than-thou self-image.
But, everyone seems to have made up their minds already on this one.

Re: Battleship class name
I did vote Templar because i just prefer the word, but I think Paladin is probably best.
Re: Battleship class name
I think most people who like Paladin also like Templar. Templar can be the successor class name And then Samurai, then Shogan, then Noble, then Baron, then Duke, then blah blah :p

Re: Battleship class name
I think we should nominate some names now, and then put them in to a poll. 1 name each - I'm staying with the Chivalrous.

Kirov. It sounds Russian. Nothing's deadlier than a Russian.
