Twilight: Battlestar Galactica Inspired?

Post by SuperSaiyaMan12 »

Twilight seemed to have a HELL of a lot of Battlestar Galactica inspired plots. A survivor fleet, Human Flagship among the survivors, etc. Did the creators watch BSG for that episode?

No, not ringing any bells. Then again, I did exorcise most of ENT from my brain, so it's not surprising I don't remember it.

Really? It was one of the best episodes of the show...

As much as that means.

Hey ENT is my favorite series. Yeah I really liked that episode but that story is not BSG origional. The Aeneid anyone?

How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Last survivors of the humans, 50,000 and all, flee the Cylons in a makeshift survivor fleet with only one warship, the aging battlestar Galactica is the basic premise.

That does sound similar.

I noticed that too. Ironic isn't it. Ceti Alpha VI should blow up right about the time the human race is back on it's feet.

But I don't think it was too BSG inspired. They had more then one warship left, and they weren't looking for the '13th colony' or something.

Just add a trip to the underworld, and an engagement party, and you're there.

Yeah, the lack of space mormanism is a big clue. I'm sure there's a few other series that have this premise or episodes with it.

It's actually a fairly common theme in all of literature, not just sci-fi, as Monroe pointed out with the Aeneid, or even the Old Testament. I'd be surprised to not have seen the idea of questing for a lost or promised home/family/colony as often as I have.
